Overnight Rides from Kathmandu & Pokhara
If you only have a short time in either Kathmandu or Pokhara and would just love to get out on the trails, then why not try one of Himalayan Single Tracks overnight tours. We ride up to one of the Hill Stations for an overnight stay. Enjoy magnificent mountain views and local hospitality and culture before returning the next day. We take you along the best tracks and trails on offer, so pack your overnight bag and get ready to ride.

Nagarkot is the most famous hill station in the Kathmandu Valley. A popular destination that boasts simply breath-taking views of the Himalaya from Everest in the East to Annapurna in the West. The ride there takes us along a section of Urban single tracks before climbing up to Changu Nayaran, one of the oldest Temples in the Valley. Cycle along the ridge through the Thankot Forest before rejoining the main road for the last 10km climb to Nagarkot. The second day takes us mostly downhill along jeep trails to Bhaktapur from where we pick up single tracks through the urban farm lands back into the heart of Kathmandu.

Chisapani Jungle and Mountain Views

Chisapani is found on the northern ridge of the Kathmandu Valley. We leave our office and cycle towards Bhudanilkhanta where we can make a brief visit to the statue of Sleeping Bishnu. Paved road climbs steeply to the National Park Gates. From here we have a beautiful section of unused jeep trail all the way to Mulkhara, a small village where we can have lunch. Things toughen up after lunch as we ride along the lovely Nishnu Mati River into the heart of the jungle. There are some steep sections of climbing before reaching Chisapani, the Tamang Village where we will stop the night. There are great views of the Mid Himalaya from here. The second day follows the edge of the jungle to Jhule from where we drop back down in to the valley and visit the ancient Newar township of Sankhu. Jeep track and urban single trails take us back into Kathmandu.

Peddle and Paddle Multi Adventure

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the city, we drive up one and half hours to Nagarkot, a beautiful hill station situated on the Kathmandu Valleys Eastern Rim. From the tower enjoy breakfast before heading off on a downhill adventure. Winding jeep trails take us down hill with stunning views of the Himalaya along the way. The downhill is about 22km and lots of fun. Pick up and picnic lunch when we meet the main road and drive the one hour to Riverside Camp. Stay overnight in the tranquil settings, fall asleep listening to the crickets and frogs and night sounds.

On the second day, we tackle the Bhote Koshi,one of the wildest rivers in Nepal and the very best for short rafting. From October we can run the upper section just below the Last Resort. About 16km of wild rapids will give you the thrills you are seeking. The upper section is thrill a minute ride which will barley give you a chance to catch your breath as you navigate a series of technical rapids, heart pounding drops and waves. This section is best enjoyed by paddlers who have a little bit of rafting experience. For a gentler trip and in the Monsoon we run the Lower section of the River with some challenging rapids and huge waves. Lunch is had on the river side before the bus journey back to Kathmandu.

Phanchase Bhanjyang Hike and Bike

One of the best rides in the Pokhara Valley. The first day we climb up to Sarangkot, a slightly steep, paved road climb. After rest and lunch we cycle along the ridge on a jeep track to Naudanda. From here we have a short section of riding on the main road before we turn off and follow a stunningly scenic jeep track for about two hours to Bhadaure, there are some tough rocky climbing sections on the way, but it’s an enjoyable ride. Bhaduare is a beautiful village with commanding views of the Himalaya and Phewa Tal, we will stay here overnight enjoying the friendly hospitality of a local teahouse. The next morning we hike 2 to 3 hours through the lush jungle to Panchase Bhanjyang, the hike is well worth it for the simply mesmerizing views of the Western Himalaya. Return to Bhaduare for lunch and then we cycle on to Tamangi Guan, a little bit of off road climbing is involved to cross the ridge, followed by 21km of splendid downhill all the way to the end of the Lake. The ride finishes with a flat section around the Lake and back into town.

Begnas Lake and the Seti River

Begnas Lake is in a beautiful hidden valley just beyond Pokhara. This overnight mountain biking trip is a brilliant combination of nature, single tracks and stunning scenery with views of the Himalaya for the most part of the ride. The ride sweeps around the lake, through rice fields and local villages before entering the Seti Valley for some fun sections of single track. A great ride for all levels of riders and a nice way to spend a few days in lovely Pokhara. Cycling through the city for around half an hour, we soon leave the traffic behind and peddle along a jeep track to Tiger Mountain Resort for a delicious lunch. After lunch we climb up to Kaliskanstan on a steady road, the climb is easy, there is less traffic and the scenery is beautiful. From this tranquil village you get great mountain views. Stay overnight at Rupa View Guest House. The Second day leaves Begnas Tal behind us; we have a good, easy and fun ride along the Seti River. There are some brilliant single tracks along the way. The route is mostly flat and we pass along the Seti River Valley through the gorgeous scenery back to Lakeside.

Dhampus and Pokhara Valley

Dhampus is a beautiful village situated on the Annapurna Base Camp trekking route. This is one of the great places for Himalayan views in Pokhara and one of the loveliest rides around. Challenging uphill is rewarded with thrilling downhill and single track sections. This ride explores the heart of the Pokhara Valley, traditional villages and stunning landscapes. The ride is for intermediate riders and is a fantastic way to spend a couple of days in Pokhara. The second day boasts some excellent single track down to the Mardi Khola (River) before passing through Lahachowk and a stop at the hot springs in Tatopani. A truly enjoyable ride.
