Ride Through the Heart of the Annapurna Range

E Biking Annapurna

The Annapurna Circuit E-Bike adventure is a high Himalayan journey through one of Nepal’s most iconic mountain routes. Starting in the lush lower valleys and climbing gradually toward the dry alpine landscapes of Manang, the ride follows rivers, forests, old trading villages, suspension bridges, jeep tracks, and flowing singletrack before crossing the mighty Thorong La Pass at 5,416m.

With the support of e-bikes, the climbs become more achievable while the route still keeps its true adventure feeling. Each day brings a change in scenery, from green hills and pine forests to high yak pastures, glacial lakes, sacred temples, Mustang valleys, and long descents into warmer landscapes. It is a journey for riders who want challenge, comfort, culture, and big mountain riding in one unforgettable trip.

Himalayan Single Track’s bespoke e-biking itinerary explores more of the Annapurna region than conventional routes. Our inclusion of a ride to Ghorepani offers riders a final breathtaking vista of the Himalayan mountains they have just cycled around.

Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Arrive in Nepal and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, there may be time to explore the old streets and temples around Kathmandu Durbar Square before returning by local rickshaw. Later, we complete your e-bike fitting and trip briefing, making sure your bike is set up correctly before heading into the Himalaya. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner.
Day 02Kathmandu (1,400m) to Ngadi (890m) - 7 hr drive
After breakfast, we leave Kathmandu and drive west through busy towns, river valleys, terraced hillsides, and rural villages toward the start of the Annapurna Circuit. The journey gives a first taste of Nepal’s changing landscapes, from city streets to the foothills of the Himalaya. We arrive in Ngadi, a peaceful village beyond Besisahar, where we settle into a local teahouse. There is time for a short walk through the village, a relaxed evening, and a final check before the riding begins.
Day 03Ngadi (890m) to Bagarchap (2,160m) - 35 km, +1,270m
The riding begins with a steady climb into the Marsyangdi Valley, following trails and jeep tracks beside the river. The landscape is lush and green, with suspension bridges, waterfalls, terraced fields, and small Gurung villages along the way. This is a proper introduction to Himalayan e-biking. The climbs are long but rewarding, and the bike support helps keep the day enjoyable while still feeling adventurous. By the time we reach Bagarchap, the air is cooler, the mountains feel closer, and the circuit has truly begun.
Day 04Bagarchap (2,160m) to Upper Pisang (3,300m) - 25 km, +1,140m
Today we climb higher into the Annapurna region as the forested valley begins to open up. Pine forests, high cliffs, and mountain views replace the warmer lower-valley scenery, and the trail becomes more alpine in character. The riding is a mix of trekking trail and jeep track, with steady climbing and some rougher sections to keep things interesting. Upper Pisang is one of the most beautiful overnight stops on the route, with huge views toward Annapurna II and Annapurna IV.
Day 05Upper Pisang (3,300m) to Manang (3,540m) via Ghyaru - 27 km, +240m
This is one of the most scenic days on the circuit. We ride through Ghyaru, a traditional village set high above the valley, with stone houses, prayer flags, and wide Himalayan views in every direction. The riding has a great mix of flowing singletrack, old trails, and some challenging switchbacks. It is not just about distance today, but about the feeling of moving through a dramatic high mountain landscape. We finish in Manang, the main village of the upper valley, where Tibetan-influenced culture and big mountain scenery come together.
Day 06Manang (3,540m) to Gangapurna Lake and Return - 5 km
Today is an acclimatisation day, but we still make time for a short and beautiful ride to Gangapurna Lake. The lake sits below Gangapurna Mountain, surrounded by glacial scenery, dry cliffs, and wide views across the Manang Valley. The ride is short, relaxed, and fun, with flowing singletrack and time to enjoy the surroundings. The afternoon is free to rest, visit local monasteries, explore Manang village, or simply enjoy the slower rhythm of life at altitude.
Day 07Manang (3,540m) to Yak Kharka (4,050m) - 10 km, +510m
Leaving Manang, we climb gradually into a more remote and open landscape. The green valley gives way to yak pastures, alpine scrub, and big views across the high Himalaya. The riding is mostly on singletrack and feels increasingly wild as we gain altitude. The pace is steady, allowing time to acclimatise and enjoy the changing scenery. By Yak Kharka, the mountain environment feels raw, quiet, and powerful.
Day 08Yak Kharka (4,050m) to Muktinath (3,710m) via Thorong La Pass (5,416m) - 30 km, +1,366m / -1,666m
This is the biggest and most memorable day of the journey. We start early and climb toward Thorong La, one of the highest cyclable mountain passes in the world. It is a demanding high-altitude day, with sections where pushing may be needed, but the reward is unforgettable. From the top, the views stretch across a huge Himalayan landscape before the trail drops toward Muktinath. The descent is long, wild, and exciting, with singletrack, switchbacks, and a real sense of travelling from one world into another. Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site and a special place to finish such a big day.
Day 09Muktinath (3,710m) to Marpha (2,670m) via Lubra Valley, Dhumba Lake and Tinigaun - 32 km, -1,080m
Today brings some of the best trail riding of the trip. We descend through the famous Lubra Valley, a classic Mustang trail with dry mountain scenery, technical sections, switchbacks, and fast, flowing moments. The route continues past Dhumba Lake and Tinigaun before reaching Marpha, known for its whitewashed stone houses, narrow lanes, apple orchards, and strong local character. This is a beautiful riding day, with a mix of adventure, culture, and big open Mustang landscapes.
Day 10Marpha (2,670m) to Tatopani (1,190m) via Titi Lake - 45 km, -1,480m
We leave Marpha and continue down the Kali Gandaki Valley, riding through changing terrain as the dry Mustang landscape slowly gives way to greener hillsides. The route includes a visit to Titi Lake, a peaceful and scenic stop with mountain views and a quieter feel away from the main trail. From there, the day continues mostly downhill toward Tatopani. The riding is varied, with jeep tracks, village trails, and long descents. After several big days in the mountains, Tatopani’s natural hot springs are the perfect place to relax.
Day 11Tatopani (1,190m) to Beni, then Drive to Pokhara (822m) - 25 km ride, 3 hr drive
The final ride follows jeep tracks and valley roads toward Beni, gradually bringing us out of the high mountain world and back toward the lower hills. It is a satisfying last spin, with time to look back on the huge variety of terrain covered during the circuit. At Beni, the biking section ends and we transfer by vehicle to Pokhara. The evening is spent beside the lake, with good food, comfort, and a well-earned rest after completing one of Nepal’s great Himalayan rides.
Day 12Pokhara (822m) to Kathmandu (1,400m) - 25 min flight
Enjoy a relaxed day in Pokhara before the evening flight back to Kathmandu. There is time to rest by the lake or choose from optional activities such as paragliding, rafting, zipline, massage, paddleboarding, or other adventure options. After the flight, we return to Kathmandu for the final night of the trip.
Day 13Departure from Kathmandu (1,400m)
Transfer to the airport for your international departure. The trip ends with big mountain memories, high passes, flowing trails, and a full journey around the Annapurna Circuit by e-bike.
