Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Nepal
Upon your arrival in Nepal, a member of our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. We have a meet and greet with the guide for a trip briefing and gear check. We also take you to a welcome dinner of Nepal's traditional dish Dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, and lots of tasty side dishes).
Day 02Drive from Kathmandu to Syange (1100m) Driving Time: 8–10 hours
We begin our long drive to Syange early in the morning. En route, we get to enjoy the countryside of Nepal with its green hills, winding rivers, terraced farms, and of course the mighty Himalayas. Overnight in Syange.
Day 03Trekking from Syange (1100m) to Dharapani (1960m) Distance: 15.4 km
We enter Manang district after crossing a large bridge near Tal. The trail passes through barley, rice, and potato fields, and waterfalls continue to accompany us. We also pass through the village of Kodo before reaching Dharapani, one of the biggest villages in the Manang valley. Overnight at Dharapani.
Day 04Trekking from Dharapani (1960m) to Chame (2710m) Distance: 16 km
Today we negotiate a few steep forested ridges along with several landslides en route to Chame. We should not forget to look up though, as we will be greeted with remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m). We also come across small hot springs which should help us relax for a while. Overnight at Chame.
Day 05Trekking from Chame (2710m) to Pisang (3300m) Distance: 15 km
We walk through a steep and narrow valley to have our first view of Paungda Danda rock face, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1,500m from the river. From here, we also gain excellent views of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak to the northeast. Next, we descend to the Manang Valley floor, enjoying the captivating landscape. Overnight in Pisang.
Day 06Trekking from Pisang (3300m) to Manang (3540m) Distance: 20 km
From Pisang, there are two routes to Manang. We choose the one which passes through Upper Pisang via Gyru, as it guarantees outstanding views of Mt. Annapurna, Pisang Peak, and others if the weather permits. As we walk near Manang, the climate becomes more cold and dry. However, a short visit to Barge Monastery, the biggest monastery in the Manang District, should cheer us up. Overnight at Manang.
Day 07Manang Rest, Exploration, and Acclimatization
Take a day to acclimatize and prepare for the hard days to come. Short hikes can be taken to explore the nearby area, visit high-altitude lakes, rest, relax, and chill out in Manang, maybe you will not want to leave! From here, you will be heading into the true mountain wilderness. Manang is home to the Manangi people, and here you can sometimes see the ancient sports of archery and pony racing.
Day 08Trekking from Manang (3540m) to Yak Kharka (4110m) Distance: 7.5 km
From Manang village, the trail crosses a stream, climbs to the village of Tenki above Manang, and then continues to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley, turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. The trail follows this valley northward, passing a few pastures and a scrub of juniper trees as it steadily gains elevation. The trail further passes near the small village of Ghunsa, a cluster of flat mud roofs just below the trailhead. Now the trail goes through meadows where horses and yaks graze. After crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, the trail passes an ancient old Mani wall in a pleasant meadow and then reaches another small village of Yak Kharka. Little but gradual ascent is the key to avoiding altitude problems.
Day 09Trekking from Yak Kharka (4110m) to Thorong Phedi (4420m) Distance: 7.3 km
It is an uphill walk to Thorong Phedi. After walking for some time, we cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. We ascend further and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorong Phedi, the last village before Thorong La. On this trip, we are rewarded with one of the best views of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorung Peak, and Mt. Khatungkan. Overnight in Thorong Phedi.
Day 10Trekking from Thorong Phedi (4420m) via Thorong La (5416m) to Muktinath (3800m) Distance: 16.4 km
Crossing Thorong La pass, one of the highest passes in the world, will be our ultimate objective today. We will be crossing the pass from east to west (Manang to Muktinath), which is the easiest and safest direction. We get up around three in the morning and walk up the mountain. When we finally make it to the top, we realize that our journey was worth it. We can take a few photos before heading to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the Thorong La pass. We stay here overnight, where our mountain bikes and guide will be awaiting us.
Day 11Biking from Muktinath (3800m) to Marpha (2670m) Distance: 27 km
Our day kicks off with some brilliant downhill, and after yesterday's challenge, you will welcome fun jeep tracks and trails with a mostly downhill gradient! We have to start early as the wind gets up after 11 AM, making riding a bit more challenging. Chill out on this section and enjoy the views. For experienced riders, there are singletrack options. Savor the moment as you whizz past trekkers, the Himalayan wind in your face and miles of downhill before your wheels. Once in the river valley, it's a 6km flat stretch to Jomsom, followed by undulating trails along the river to Marpha. In the wind, this can be a bit tough riding, but stop and enjoy the views along the way
Day 12Biking from Marpha (2670m) to Tatopani (1190m) Distance: 46 km
Again, we are going downhill today. The trail starts out gentle and flat and winds in and out of the valley sides, through pine forests and small villages. Following the river, there are good views of the snow-capped peaks. Stop at the lush waterfalls at Rupse Chhahara (Waterfall) for lunch. After here, the speed picks up as the trail drops some 1,000 meters with sweeping curves and plunges, rocky sections, and bumps that you will love. Arrive in Tatopani, the cobble-lined village famous for its rejuvenating hot springs. Once in Tatopani, you can enjoy a soothing bath in the hot springs, and perhaps a local massage will not go astray, or a cold beer for that matter.
Day 13Biking from Tatopani (1190m) to Beni (830m) Distance: 26 km
Continue the descent through lush subtropical terrain, following the Kali Gandaki River. The trail offers a mix of jeep track and singletrack options as you ride through traditional villages and terraced fields. Arrive in Beni, where we will meet our rafting crew and prepare for the next phase of the adventure.
