Ebiking Lower Mustang

The Lower Mustang Ebike Tour is perfect for riders who want to explore Nepal’s high-altitude landscapes with a boost of power. This journey takes you from the vibrant lakeside city of Pokhara to the rugged trails of the Mustang Valley, where ancient culture and breathtaking scenery come together in an unforgettable ride. With the support of powerful ebikes, you’ll cover more ground, climb higher, and immerse yourself in one of Nepal’s most awe-inspiring regions.

The route follows the Kali Gandaki River, cutting through the dramatic Mustang landscape between the towering peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. You’ll pass through remote villages, where the unique blend of Tibetan and Nepali culture thrives, and ride through the apple orchards and traditional stone-walled homes of the Thakali people. Their famous apple brandy and delicious cuisine add a flavorful touch to the journey.

The adventure takes you high above the valley to Muktinath, a sacred site at the base of the mighty Thorong La Pass. From here, a network of incredible trails awaits, from fast-flowing descents to winding singletrack through mountain villages and open plains. Ride along ancient trade routes, cross wooden bridges over glacial rivers, and soak in the vast landscapes that define this legendary region.

With the HST Team, you’ll discover hidden trails and secret spots that most riders never see. Whether it’s a quiet monastery overlooking the valley, a high-altitude lake, or a breathtaking viewpoint, we take you beyond the ordinary.

Itinerary

Day 01Day 01: Arrival in Nepal
Arrive in Nepal and transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu, where you will meet our team for a trip briefing and orientation. This is a relaxed arrival day, giving you time to settle in after your journey and prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and a chance to talk through the riding, bikes, weather, and travel plan before heading into the mountains
Day 02Kathmandu (1,400m) to Pokhara (822m), then Ride to World Peace Stupa - 20 km
Take a scenic morning flight to Pokhara, Nepal’s lakeside adventure town set below the Annapurna range. After arriving, we begin with a warm-up ride around Phewa Lake, giving you time to get comfortable on the e-bike and enjoy the softer rhythm of Pokhara. The ride climbs toward the World Peace Stupa, where wide views open across the lake, city, hills, and snow-capped mountains. The descent flows back through green forest trails, making this a fun and scenic first ride before we head deeper into the Himalaya.
Day 03Jomsom (2,720m) to Kagbeni (2,800m) - 12 km
Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom, the gateway to Mustang and the Kali Gandaki Valley. From here, the ride to Kagbeni is short and gentle, giving the body time to adjust to the altitude while still enjoying the dramatic change in landscape. The route follows the wide valley beneath dry cliffs and high peaks, with views into one of the deepest valleys in the world. Kagbeni is a beautiful medieval village, with narrow lanes, old monasteries, prayer wheels, and a strong Tibetan cultural feel.
Day 04Kagbeni (2,800m) to Muktinath (3,800m), Return via Lubra Valley - 35 km
Today we climb from Kagbeni toward Muktinath, one of Nepal’s most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. The e-bike support helps make the climb more manageable, while the views become bigger with every turn. After visiting the Muktinath area, the route drops into the hidden Lubra Valley, one of the classic riding lines of Lower Mustang. Expect sandy singletrack, open desert scenery, traditional architecture, and a descent that feels remote, playful, and unforgettable.
Day 05Kagbeni (2,800m) to Tini Gaon (2,670m) via Jharkot and Lubra’s Second Line - 28 km
This day brings a strong mix of culture and trail riding. We ride toward Jharkot, a striking old village with an ancient monastery and superb views across the valley, before linking into more rugged Mustang terrain. The riding includes singletrack, technical sections, and natural descents through dry cliffs and open mountain scenery. The day finishes in Tini Gaon, a quieter village surrounded by big landscapes and a peaceful Mustang atmosphere.
Day 06Tini Gaon (2,670m) to Kalopani (2,530m) via Tower Trail and Titi Lake - 40 km
We begin with the Tower Trail, a brilliant section of riding with switchbacks, flowing lines, and wide views toward Dhaulagiri and the surrounding peaks. This is a day with plenty of variety, moving from exposed Mustang terrain into softer forested landscapes. The route continues to Titi Lake, a calm and scenic stop with beautiful mountain reflections and a quieter feel away from the main trail. From there, we descend through pine forest, mountain hamlets, and mixed trail sections toward Kalopani.
Day 07Kalopani (2,530m) to Ghorepani (2,850m) - 45 km
Today the scenery changes again as we ride into greener hills, forests, and traditional villages. The route passes through rhododendron forest with views of Annapurna, Nilgiri, and the surrounding ridgelines. The riding has a more classic middle-hill feeling, with a mix of climbs, village tracks, and forested sections. Ghorepani is a well-known mountain village with cosy teahouses and, on clear evenings, beautiful sunset views over the Himalaya.
Day 08Ghorepani (2,850m) to Nayapul, then Drive to Pokhara (822m) - 35 km
We start early with a hike to Poon Hill, one of Nepal’s most famous sunrise viewpoints. From the top, the views stretch across Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and the surrounding Himalayan skyline. After breakfast, the ride descends through forest trails, stone villages, and lower hill country toward Nayapul. This final riding day is fast, fun, and scenic, ending with a transfer back to Pokhara for a relaxed lakeside evening.
Day 09Pokhara (822m) to Kathmandu (1,400m) - 25 min flight
Fly back to Kathmandu and enjoy a free afternoon in the capital. You can explore local markets, visit temples and heritage sites, or simply relax after the riding adventure. This is also a good buffer day after the mountains, allowing time to unwind, repack, and enjoy a final evening in Nepal.
Day 10Departure from Kathmandu (1,400m)
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. The trip ends with memories of Mustang’s dry valleys, sacred villages, big Himalayan views, forest trails, and some of Nepal’s best e-bike riding.

Seasonal Guide

Best Time to Ride

Weather in Lower Mustang is usually drier than many other parts of Nepal, with clear mountain views, strong afternoon winds, and big changes between day and night temperatures. Conditions can still change quickly, especially around Jomsom, Kagbeni, Muktinath, and higher trails, so riders should be prepared for sun, dust, cold mornings, and possible rain or snow depending on the season.
