Immerse Yourself in the Magic of the Langtang Valley
Langtang, located to the north of Kathmandu within the pristine Langtang National Park, is renowned for its stunning alpine and rhododendron forests, as well as its diverse bird and wildlife. The park’s protected status means that human habitation is limited to the Buffer Zone and the main valley. The local communities, of Tibetan origin, maintain a simple yet sustainable lifestyle centered around yak and cow farming.
The main villages of Langtang and Kanjin Ghompa, tragically devastated in the 2015 earthquake with the loss of 175 lives, have since made a remarkable recovery. Witnessing the resilience and ongoing rebuilding efforts of this vibrant community offers trekkers a deeply moving experience, showcasing the strength and spirit of the region.
